Complete List of Dragon*Con Voice Actor Events

09.03.2010

I’ve been asked by several individuals attending Dragon*Con if I would list all of the voice actor panels I’m involved with along with other related panels of note. As you will see below, there are so many related events that this was a rather daunting task. I hope my efforts will be useful as a guide to those attending the con.

Please note that the schedule and guests listed below are subject to change. Check The Daily Dragon regularly for up-to-the-minute schedule and guest updates.

Locations for each panel/event are not listed due to the possibility of changes. For those attending Dragon*Con please check your Pocket Program Guide, and every morning when you arrive at the con be sure to pick up a copy of The Daily Dragon from the local D*Con Info booth which contains all updates and changes.

C. Martin Croker To Host Atlanta Theater Events

08.20.2009

C. Martin (Clay) Croker should be a name familiar to Adult Swim fans — he’s been the voice of Moltar and Zorak on Cartoon Planet, Space Ghost: Coast-to-Coast, and The Brak Show, as well as voicing Dr. Weird and Steve on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. But Croker’s a multi-talented guy whose gifts extend beyond voice acting. On his arglebargle! blog, Croker describes himself as an “Animator, V/O Actor, Comics Artist, Archivist, Director, Collector, Writer, Historian, Painter, Packrat, Recluse, Hermit, Crank, Weirdo.”

He neglected to include “Emcee” or “Host,” which is what he’ll be doing for Bizarro Saturday Morning (a “working title,” says Croker) — a film festival of sorts — at the Historic Plaza Theatre near downtown Atlanta, GA.

Croker tells Voice Actors in the News: “The show will be comprised of all old weird 16mm prints from my own collection — featuring live action, cartoons and commercials and other stuff rarely shown in theaters before!”

The shows are currently scheduled for:

– Tuesday, September 15
– Tuesday, October 20
– Tuesday, November 17

Croker has promised to provide more details on these events in the near future. And while Croker’s upcoming shows are not yet listed on the Historic Plaza Theatre’s website — plazaatlanta.com — location and venue details are available there. Here’s the address and contact info for the theater:

Historic Plaza Theatre
1049 Ponce De Leon Ave NE
Atlanta, GA 30306-4219
(404) 873-1939

Croker’s last event at The Plaza — “To Hell With Hitler,” featuring rare 16mm cartoon shorts from WWII (circa 1942-45) — was completely packed out. Blogger “Hipster Dad” wrote a full report of the event on his blog. I was in attendance at the event as well and thoroughly enjoyed it. For those in the Atlanta area, I feel I can say confidently that whether you’re an Adult Swim fan, animation enthusiast, or TV/film junkie… you’d be denying yourself some prime entertainment if you miss these events. Make plans now to attend. And you’ll also want to show up plenty early as seating is rather limited.

In related news, Croker will also be attending Atlanta’s Dragon*Con this coming Labor Day weekend (September 4-7, 2009). He’ll likely be involved in a panel or two, and will be signing autographs at the Walk of Fame during the weekend. I’ll have more details on this once Dragon*Con publishes their schedule.

And just because I can, here’s a photo of me with the esteemed C. Martin Croker at the 2003 San Diego Comic-Con:
