Hal Sparks Explains It All

In an interview with Newsday.com, actor/comedian Hal Sparks (Tak and the Power of Juju, Robot Chicken) offers some insight into the difficulties of breaking into voice acting:

The reason it’s so hard to break into voice-over acting is because of the language the directors use. They’ll say, “Can you do that again, but throw a little more heat on it?” Or, “Can you flip that one and give it some height?” And that’s why everybody who’s done voice-over has been in it for 50 years. That’s how long it took them to figure out what the hell the director was talking about.
